Sandro Vanden Berghe/composer-musician
Welcome, may peace be in your heart... Born in Oostende (Belgium) on March 22nd 1968.
I started my musical endeavour playing the mandolin when I was about 6 years old.
One year later I switched to violin.
After completing my classical training at the Conservatoire de Musique de Bruxelles I studied Jazz and improvisational technique at the Halewyn-Stichting in Antwerpen.
In 1989 I visited the U.S.A. for the first time. In New York City I played in bands like: Ronald Shannon Jackson & the Decoding Society, Macbeth, Kumiko Kimoto Dance Company, a.o.
Aside from being a musician I also write songs. I've been writing songs since the age of 12.
First writing attempts were made in Dutch and French but soon I found the way to the English language.
Almost every day I write and record in my small demo-studio in De Haan, at night I often play in clubs and bars.
